We are staying most of the month of July 2022 in Sycamore to visit Bonnie’s family. This RV park is the only one in the area, fortunately it is a really nice place, Sycamore RV Resort.
We have a private beach for sunning and relaxing.
Nice biking/walking paths in the area as well as in the park.
We definitely need those trails to work off our ice cream addiction. I told Bruce about the “Kitchen Sink” at Colonial Ice Cream. This is a local place that has been around since the early 1900s. In 1976 the kitchen sink was created. It has 6 scoops of ice cream, 2 whole bananas, all the toppings, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry on top!! Say no more, the challenge was on!! We actually finished it, it took a while but we did it and got our bumper sticker to prove it, proudly displayed on our rig.
We also took a trip to the Grand Victoria Riverboat Casino, “the boat” to locals. This casino is currently owned by Ceasars Corp. and is much nicer than I remember it was in the ‘80s. Lady Luck smiled on me and I won $350! Bruce didn’t do so well, but we had a great time. I guess Illinois has legalized gambling because there are little ‘slot shops’ in strip malls around here. Odd to see gambling that isn’t on Reservations.
We will be in Illinois for another 2 weeks before heading off to our next destination.
