Approximately 70 miles northwest of Silver City NM near Glenwood NM is a cool little hiking trail built into the rocks called the Catwalk. It is only a 2.25 mile easy hike and very pretty. The catwalk was originally wood but the forest burned then there was a washout during the monsoons and the walkway was too damaged to use so it was replaced with metal.
There are nice picnic spots at the trailhead aong a nice stream.
We really enjoyed this place.
Unfortunately we couldn’t finish the trail and had to turn back.
The white trees were interesting. Not sure what they are, seems like the bark stripped off.
There are still some signs of the fire that swept through here approximately 10 years ago.
