Our Lady of Guadeloupe is the oldest church in Colorado. We stopped to get some pictures on the drive back from Pikes Peak.
The road to the church was recently renamed Veterans Boulevard. Trees have been planted along the road to honor local veterans. There are name plaques beside every tree with solar lighting.
A little further south on Hwy 17 in Las Mesitas Colorado is San Isidro Catholic Church. The church burned in 1973, all that remains is the shell and the cemetery. Interesting bit of local history.
