Saguaro National Park

We had the opportunity to stay in Tucson AZ for a weekend on our way back to Deming from Quartzite. I have been wanting to see the big saguaro cactus so now was my chance! There are two parks, West and East. We had limited time so only went to the one on the east side of Tucson. It was a drive through type of park with a 9 mile loop drive. The scenery was beautiful. The cactus are protected here and very old, they don’t grow an arm until they are 75-80 years old.

Bruce just couldn’t miss an opportunity to scare the crap out of me…..as I was walking by this branch he yelled “watch out for the huge lizard”!!! Had me for a minute!
