Near Deming are some nice state parks to hike. We like Spring Canyon, Rockhound and City of Rocks. All have nice easy hikes with beautiful scenery. Lover’s Leap trail is a very vertical trail, make sure you have plenty of water.

Yellow poppies that grow on the Florida Mountain range. When the Spanish first saw this mountain range it was covered in poppies, hence the name Florida (Flower) Mountains.
